I'm noticing a lot of mini versions of regular items that make good doll items even though they're not intended for dolls.

I bought some of those mini composition books at Walgreens that are supposed to be memo books, but I thought they made good AG notebooks! I got 2 marble style and 2 Lisa Frank style! I saw a memo binder that would make a good AG school binder at Office Max. Also those little gift books I see at the bookstores may be a bit on the big side but still make good AG sized books.

I also saw, but didn't buy, LIL BRATZ dolls that are even smaller than the AG mini dolls. I thought they would make good dolls for the AGOTs. Even things like Hot Wheels, Matchbox cars and Polly Pockets make good toys for the dolls to play with. Also teenie Beanie Babies and Boppers and Jingle, Basket and Halloweenie Beanies work too. And those keychain-sized board games I've seen-Scrabble, Yahtzee, etc. These items tend to be much cheaper than the stuff offerend by AG and many of these aren't even offered by them.

I know someone here on the board saw an AG-sized shopping cart at Big Lots. So far I only bought the composition books. I don't have room for a lot of AG stuff even though I want to buy all this stuff and make a doll room or doll corner but I don't even have room in my apartment for a table to eat on! I also intend to dig my AG box out of storage where I have some other items and outfits I haven't seen in awhile.

Has anyone else done this?

Wow, it sounds like you found some neat stuff!
I once found a mini calculator, and a blank note book on a keychain that I use for my dolls.

I went to Big Lots and did not find the shopping cart. I did pick up a small pencil holder a WM in the mesh style to put beside my computer table. Sometimes my girls miss the basket.

I have a lot of Lil' Bratz dolls, LOL! In some pictures I took (I have yet to make an album!), I have my three "girls" (dolls) playing with them and their little car! LOL! It's pretty cute! They are a good size for AG's!

Yeah, I have a bunch of mini stuff for my AGs. The girls play with the McDs mini Barbies, write in keychain notebooks with mini gel pens, do math on a calculator keychain, and use just about anything that is their size!

I have the shopping cart! I just realized it! I saw it at Big Lots two years ago when my parents were living with me after they lost their home in Hurricane Isabel and were househunting, which is how I'm so sure of how long I've had it. My mother gave it to me that Christmas. I keep my dishtowels rolled up in it on a shelf in my kitchen!

Do you have a Michael's near you? They have the little shopping carts in their container area. They also have really cute miniature fruit..bananas, oranges, apples and pears. I think I got some carrots and some green peppers there too. Still looking for miniature Indian corn for their Thanksgiving baskets! Lin

I've found some great items too! For example, our local Scholastic Book Fair Warehouse has colored pencils that are nearly perfect AG size. They are attached to a full-sized set of rainbow pencils.

Walmart a few months ago, had modern kitchen gadgets that were perfect! I got a cheese grater, pizza slicer, whisk, ladle, tongs, and a couple other things I can't remember right now.

Walmart also has UNO cards in the party favors section.

Target, at Christmas time last year had ornaments that were baskets with cookies in them that were adorable, and little resin pies, too!

I always keep my eyes open for new ideas! Thanks for sharing yours!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">If you look into the floral picks area, you will see lots of seasonal ones that have mini pumpkins and ears of corn.
Also, if you go to Party Warehouse or Party Place or any of those kinds of stores, you can find great mini items as part of bday favors.
I got mini address books, mini markers, erasers, Hogwarts notebooks and other stuff for DD AG school.
It is so much fun to look for this tiny things!
